•We study lifestyle, usage conditions, climate, occasions, price expectations, styling preferences, fit requirements, and common footwear problems.
•We analyze footwear trends to identify improvements in: Fit, Weight, Durability, Construction, Materials, Functionality, Design, and Value.

Last & Fit Development

The anatomical foundation of bespoke shoemaking

•The last is the foundation of the shoe. Our R&D process considers toe shape, forefoot width, instep height, heel fit, arch relationship, toe allowance, balance, and 3D foot geometry.
•We evaluate the relationship between the last and the footwear category to achieve harmony between appearance, fit, stability, and comfort.
•The last is refined through repeated sampling rather than treated as a static component.

Material Research

Custom hide selection & chemical formulation for each application

•Materials are selected according to the specific purpose of the product.
•We evaluate leather and components for thickness, grain character, softness, flexibility, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, colour stability, finish adhesion, breathability, recovery, and ageing behaviour.
•Different materials are tested against different footwear requirements rather than using a single specification for every shoe.

Construction Engineering

Harmonizing every structural component from upper to outsole

•We select construction methods according to intended use, performance requirements, design, and price positioning.
•Interaction studied: Upper → Lining → Insole → Footbed → Last → Sole → Adhesives → Stitching → Finishing.
•We analyze how these components interact to influence flexibility, stability, weight, durability, comfort, repairability, and overall product longevity.

Prototyping

Physical sample iterations over digital assumptions

•Ideas are converted into physical prototypes across multiple sample stages, allowing us to evaluate the actual product in hand.
•Prototypes are assessed for shape, proportion, fit, walking comfort, flexibility, balance, weight, construction, stitching, material behaviour, sole performance, and finishing quality.
•Every prototype generates telemetry that feeds directly into the next iteration.

Wear & Performance Testing

Real-world stress tests beyond showroom conditions

•A shoe must perform beyond the showroom.
•Where applicable, we evaluate footwear through controlled testing and practical wear assessment covering: Flexing, Abrasion, Sole adhesion, Stitching, Upper behaviour, Heel stability, Comfort, and Finish durability.
•Wear testing identifies stress points and weaknesses not visible during initial inspection to understand long-term ageing.

Comfort & Ergonomic Evaluation

Holistic biomechanical support & pressure distribution

•Comfort is evaluated as an integrated system of multiple factors rather than a single component.
•We consider fit and pressure distribution, footbed support, memory cushioning, flexibility, heel stability, weight, internal construction, walking movement, and lining softness.
•The result we seek is a shoe that feels balanced, natural, and effortless during all-day wear.

Design Refinement

Deliberately restrained elegance & aesthetic purity

•Once technical and functional requirements are locked, we refine the visual language: Silhouette → Proportion → Colour → Texture → Stitching → Hardware → Sole profile → Finishing.
•Our approach is deliberately restrained. We believe premium footwear does not need excessive decoration.
•Material quality, proportion, construction, and artisan hand-finishing create our authentic visual identity.

Maximizing material substance while eliminating waste

•R&D must also create honest commercial value.
•We evaluate the relationship between material consumption, construction, manufacturing time, component selection, quality requirements, and final product cost.
•Where possible, we engineer unnecessary intermediary costs out of the product without compromising essential craftsmanship.

Pilot Production

Validating consistency from bench prototypes to workshop scale

•Before moving to full production, the approved design is evaluated through pilot manufacturing.
